Anti-Rust Coating

Corrosion is one of the most common phenomena we experience on a daily basis. It is both hazardous and extremely costly. This occurs when a refined metal is naturally converted to a more stable form like oxide, hydroxide or sulphide and causes deterioration.  Corrosion takes place when the metal reacts with other substances like oxygen, hydrogen, etc. The most common type of corrosion of iron takes place when the metal exposed to oxygen and water.  This creates an iron oxide, commonly known as rust.

To reverse the process of rusting and prevent further deterioration we offer 2 types of coatings.

Rust Converter

Glo-Prolek Rust Converter Primer (GPHC) is a revolutionary, hi-tech product that reverses the process of rusting. GPRC with its reactive VX-polymer converts rust into a stable metal complex and attains a passive state without losing the strength of the metal, in essence it is an encapsulation process.

The lighter coloured GPRC, when applied on the surface of the metal changes to a dark blackish coloured protective coating film. This marks the END OF RUSTING OR CORROSION of the metal surface. GPRC is an insulating polymer. GPRC is also a water-based’ system and it is non-flammable and non-toxic.

Method of Application

Surface Preparation

Remove loose rust scales, flaking rust, old paint and dirt from the corroded metal surface with the use of wire brush.

No need to remove all the traces of rust, since the adherent rust is automatically converted into stable polymer complex compound with GRPC.

GRPC does not require different steps of surface preparation of the metal like sand blasting, phosphating or red-oxide coating, etc..

Application

GRPC can be applied by using brush, roller, spray or dipping. Ø Apply an initial coat of GRPC and allow it to dry.

Apply a uniform second coat at 30 to 60 minutes interval to maintain a minimum DFT 35 to 60 microns.

Complete protection is achieved within minutes when a blackish to brown protective film is formed on the metal surface (where the rust is more it appears brownish and where the rust is less it appears blackish).

Now the surface is ready for a finish coat. The surface treated with GRPC is compatible to any type of finish such as Epoxy, PU, Enamel, etc..

NOTE

Surface preparation is the most important step before application to get results and avoid failure.

While applying make sure the sufficient amount of solution is used, as the success or failure of such treatment depends on this factor.

The surface temperature should be between 5 0 C and 500 C.

Do not transfer the left-over portion of GPRC back into the original container, so as to prevent contamination of the unused product.

GPRC is a ‘Base’ Coat and it requires a top coat.

D2Rust Corrosion Sealer

Glo-Protek D2Rust(Direct 2 Rust) is a two part, moisture-cure, High Build, advance Acrylic Polyurethane and self-priming metallic Coating. It has a unique metallic fillers, anti-corrosive chelating agents and moisture-cure formulation in which after application, it begins to cure by pulling moisture from the molecular level as well as microscopically swelling into the individual pores of the surface as it hardens. This process along with anti-corrosive chelating agents properties seals the surface against the penetration of air, moisture, or minerals on the subtract which causes further corrosion.

Glo-Protek D2Rust(Direct 2 Rust) is an excellent self-priming finish coat on a variety of substrates such as steel, aluminum, coated metal, asbestos sheet, glass fiber reinforced polyester, wood etc.

Glo-Protek D2Rust(Direct 2 Rust) can be over coated on any paint (Enamel-Epoxy-PU) to give extra strength and enhance the life of the metal.

Method of Application

Surface Preparation

  • Remove loose rust scales, flaking rust, old paint, oil or grease and dirt from the corroded metal surface by appropriate manner.

No need to remove all the traces of rust. D2Rust contains a unique metallic fillers, anticorrosive chelating agents and moisture cure formulation in which after application, it begins to cure by pulling moisture from the molecular level as well as microscopically swelling into the individual pores of the surface as it hardens. This process along with anti-corrosive chelating agents properties seals the surface against the penetration of air, moisture, or minerals on the subtract which causes further corrosion.

  • D2Rust does not require different steps of surface preparation of the metal like sand blasting, phosphating or red-oxide coating, etc..

Application

  • D2Rust can be applied by using brush, roller or spray.

  • Mix the Base and Adduct as per the ratio (4:1).

  • Apply an initial coat of D2Rust and allow it to dry.

  • Apply a second coat at 2 to 6 hrs. Interval and maintain a minimum DFT 120 to 160 microns.

Now the surface is ready for the over coat. The surface treated with D2Rust is compatible to any type of top coat such as Epoxy, PU, Enamel, etc..

NOTE

  • Base & Hardener must be hand stirred separately followed by power driven stirrer for quick homogenous mixing for at least 5 minutes.

  • While applying make sure the sufficient amount of solution is used, as the success or failure of such treatment depends on this factor.

  • The surface temperature should be between 5 0 C and 650 C.
