PU Crack Injection
Cracks in concrete structure cause water to penetrate into the structure or leak out of the storage tank. It exposes reinforcing steel to oxygen and moisture, hence the steel bar gets corroded and structure becomes weak. This will be solved by injecting a crack filling compound into the cracks by using an injection pump.
To repair a crack in a concrete structure, there are typically two injection techniques. Epoxy resin injection and PU chemical grout injection. Epoxy injection can only be applied to dry structures and polyurethane injection is superior on damp and active leakage structures. PU injection protects the structures from corrosion and water related decay by arresting active leaks and prevents moisture penetration into the substrates. Polyurethane injection foam is a sealing compound with expansion properties during reaction.
PU crack injection performed by using a special injection pump, which generates high pressure to penetrate the compound into the voids through the packers installed in the drilled holes.
